Wednesday, 29th February Talk/ Discussion event: at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. Led by Dr Malcolm Savidge, Consultant at Gloucester Royal Hospital on “Mission to Serve the Poor in Nepal”. A Catholic doctor describes his experience in serving some of the world's poorest people as an anaesthetist working with a team of English ear surgeons. This is a living expression of what the council fathers envisaged in Lumen Gentium, showing that our faith is not an inward looking idea but a challenge to engage those who do not share our faith. Part of the 21st Century Christian Faith series.

Wednesday 28 March, 2012

new!Jubilee Committee introduction by Fr David to the parish - 7.30 pm in the Parish Hall.
December 2012 - November 2013

150th Anniversary of St John’s - Celebrations will take place throughout the year leading to a Mass said by the Bishop (to be confirmed) on the day of the anniversary 6th October 2013.

There are many arrangements that will need to be made to make this anniversary year a success. In due course a number of groups will be established to cover the different areas – history, liturgy, events, cleaning and preparation for the church etc.

Fr David wishes to thank all who have responded to his request to form a Jubilee Committee. He is close to introducing the committee to the parish and would like to do this on Wednesday, 28th March at 7.30 pm in the Parish Hall.

More details on the Jubilee Year to be posted here as time progresses.
